The pricing model is used to determine the price of your trip. As we mentioned before, you only pay for what you use, by this we mean that our formula has 4 components to determine price: -> Distance to pick you up. -> Distance to drop you off. -> Comfort during your ride. -> Number of you and your friend(s). We already account for factors that affect price in indirect ways, such as traffic congestion, quality of the roads, condition of the vehicle, the driving style of the driver, the weight distributed across the vehicle, the weather and the fuel economy of the vehicle. Your price is constructed using the base fuel economy of 13.068L/100km, this is the worst case scenario, so no hidden costs, no unexpected surcharges, the price you recieve in the beginning is set in stone. The price model also aims to decrease the variance of the prices you receive, by that we mean that if you have trips that are repetitive in distance and location, the price remains stable, no peak time or ways to unduly inflate price. The only surcharge you will experience will be at night, a R15 margin cost will be added to deter or reduce the number of users or passengers that use the service, this is to aid in the safety and security of both you the passenger and the driver. This will come into effect from 23:00 to 05:00.
Children under the age of 6 are treated differently, if a passenger indicates that they are a single passenger but on arrival the driver finds a child under 6 the passenger is only charged per that passenger only. This is because a child under 6, on average, does not add plenty to the weight distributed across the car, so their weight in this instance is negligible. A passenger with a child under 6 does not get charged for the child. If, however, there are two or more children under the age of 6 than each two children are considered as a single passenger, what we mean is: -> If one child under 6, child doesn't pay. -> If two children under 6, children are charged as one passenger. -> If three children under 6, only two children are charged as one passenger. -> If four children under 6, children are charged as two passengers.
Under each of your rides you will be provided with an option to not only rate the driver but to directly tell us about the quality of your experience. We would love to know if the vehicle is in the condition you desire, is the driver reckless in his driving, did the driver misrepresent himself and how do you feel about the mechanisms we put in place in relation to safety and conduct, and how do you feel about the price. Your response will result in a direct and immediate suspension of a vehicle and driver in question. There have been high rates of criminality within this sector, so to curb this trend we have introduced the feature for both drivers and passenger to perform a Face ID, this will be compared with the profile picture you submit, so that both you and the driver can be safe and secure. You will also, however, be required to provide this Face ID for every trip. To further add an element of safety and security, Slxde comes with a built-in feature that you can utilise to signal to us that you are in danger, or that you are in fear of your life. You can shake the phone three consecutive times and this will alert us as the organisation in real time that something has just occured to you, and we will than act in haste to ensure your safety and security. This will function as the built-in panic button requested by the regulations gazzetted by the Department of Transport.
To ensure our commitment to affordable prices for you we will introduce an uncoventional form of payment. As Slxde no money will be directly paid to the company's bank account, instead drivers will have speed points so proceeds go straight to them, which will aid in affordable prices and price stability. if speed points are not available you can perform a quick Scan to Pay using any South African bank. We do sincerely apologise if this is somewhat of an inconvenience, we are trying to remove any acts of unnecessary cost for you.
